ABOUT THE TRUST

The Hanmer Heritage Forest Trust was established under the Charitable Trusts Act at the end of 2001 to preserve and manage the public values of Hanmer Forest, North Canterbury, with particular emphasis on the oldest established part of the Forest, over which there is a Crown covenant to preserve the Forest’s character.  The Trust is managed by a Board elected annually at a public meeting.  The Trust is a member of the Hanmer Liaison Committee of stakeholders with interests in the recreational aspects of the forested areas around Hanmer Springs.
